As part of the Centre for Integrated Preclinical Drug Development (CIPDD) at the University of Queensland, TetraQ has successfully conducted preclinical drug development projects with industry partners for many years. These projects address different therapeutic areas, different methods and techniques and can range from lead identification, target identification, researching the mechanism of action, to preclinical testing in terms of efficacy and safety.
A Collaborative R&D partnership between TetraQ/CIPDD and an industry partner are long-term projects enabling to address fundamental questions regarding the industry partner's compounds such as the mode of action and developing an appropriate disease model to address efficacy and safety questions.
Sharing costs and risks
Several business and financial models are available to underpin a Collaborative R&D program between TetraQ/CIPDD and the biopharmaceutical industry partner and are discussed on a case-by-case basis. Aspects such as IP protection, duration of the collaboration, financial and in-kind contributions, scope of the preclinical R&D activities, progress reporting are all part of the discussion.
Decentralised Innovation
TetraQ invites biopharmaceutical companies to undertake collaborative drug development activities in a cost effective way providing access to deep scientific expertise and high-tech capabilities and enabling the industry partner to run externally managed preclinical drug development programs in parallel to in-house programs.
